2023-2024 PNS MENTOR AWARD NOMINATIONS
PNS is committed to recognizing neuropsychologists for their mentorship of students with an interest in clinical neuropsychology.
The PNS Mentor Award is a mechanism for neuropsychology students to nominate a mentor who demonstrated excellence in mentorship. Students are encouraged to submit a nomination letter on behalf of one mentor or supervisor. Research advisors, professors and instructors, and clinical supervisors are eligible for this award.
Nomination letters are limited to 1,200 words and should offer several reasons the mentor should be considered for the award. Students are encouraged to highlight aspects of mentorship in their nominations, such as: mentor's leadership in intellectual pursuits/delivery of clinical services, support of student career development (through career guidance, making connections with other professionals), fostering the development of independent research/clinical skills, contribution to inclusive science and/or supervision, exemplifying a positive role model (as a clinician/researcher/professor) and giving constructive feedback to support student's growth as a clinician/researcher
Post-doctoral, graduate or undergraduate students may submit letters. Students and mentors do not need to be PNS members to submit a nomination letter. Current PNS Board members may not be considered for the award.
Please submit your applications by Friday, November 15, 2024 at 11:59pm. Submissions received after this deadline will not be considered. The PNS Board's decision on the award winner will be final. Mentor Award winners will be announced at the September Monthly Meeting and will be invited to present either their research or discuss their clinical mentorship model at the January 2025 Monthly Meeting.
