PNS Annual Student Research Awards

Dear Psychology Graduate Students,

We invite you to submit your research for the Annual Student Research Award sponsored by the Philadelphia Neuropsychology Society. PNS has offered two annual student research awards since 1999. Submission deadlines for the President's Award ($250) and the Francis Fields Memorial Award ($250) are in the spring and winners present their work at the final PNS Monthly meeting of the academic year in May.

PNS has a long history of encouraging student development by offering reduced membership fees and admission to its colloquia, as well as by fostering presentations and newsletter articles by students and trainees. We see the sponsorship of the student research awards as another important part of this endeavor, and encourage your submissions.

Submissions are accepted for either empirical research or for a case presentation. Students in any year of a psychology graduate program that includes neuropsychology coursework, research, or clinical experiences are eligible. Students do not need to be PNS members to submit their work.

Submissions must include a cover letter with name, graduate program, year in the program, program director, research supervisor, and the submission information specified below. The body of the research/case presentation abstract should provide no indication of your name, doctoral program, supervisor, or site at which the data were collected.

The submission format is an extended abstract (600 word maximum). Empirical research submissions should include the following sections: Introduction and Objectives, Methods, Results, and Discussion. Clinical case submissions should include the following sectopms: Referall/Presentation, History, Case Formulation, Test Results, and Discussion.

All submissions must be received by April 1. Award winners will be announced at the Spring Colloquium in April. PNS Board's decision on the granting of the two awards will be final.

All submissions should be submitted by email to info@pns-pa.org.

We look forward to receiving your submissions!

Yours truly,

The PNS Board
